I visited my mom for a week. This is a summary of what I ate during the week (with pictures!)

Monday:

My mom made some Korean mandu / fried dumplings for brunch:

We had some ice cream from Graeter's (Mason, OH) as an afternoon snack.
My chosen flavor was chocolate:

My mom made some delicious chicken akni (Indian rice dish) for dinner:

Tuesday:

We ate at Soho Japanese Bistro for lunch. I had a bento box of chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura:

My mom made some Korean kalbi with tofu and beansprouts for dinner. For some reason, my mom said she thought I liked kalbi that wasn't sweet, which isn't true; I like a very sweet kalbi. So, unfortunately, it just tasted salty:

I ate a Melona bar at home for dessert... and I ate at least one every day for the week:

Wednesday:

My mom made some yummy egg drop rice cake soup for lunch:

We had some octopus with dinner:

Thursday:

We went out to eat at Asiana Korean Restaurant (West Chester, OH) for lunch. Unfortunately, their kalbi was more salty than sweet, too :( :

For dinner, my mom brought home some chicken shawarmas from Chateau Beirut (West Chester, OH):

Friday:

My mom and I went out to eat at Dao Modern Asian Cuisine (Mason, OH). My main meal was an udon noodle soup:

I also made some red velvet cupcakes from Duncan Hines red velvet cake mix and with ChocoMaker marbled chocolate curls on top:

Monday:

My last full day with my mom made some kimchi and pork with leftovers she had, and she also brought home some chicken bulgogi from Asiana Korean Restaurant:

Tuesday:

I was sooo stuffed during the most of the week with my mom. Each time I got full, my mom would tell me I wasn't eating enough and that I should eat more... which resulted in lots of overeating. So, after a week with my mom, I was definitely ready to come back home. :)

My mom got some Chicken Bulgogi to-go from Asiana Korean Restaurant for us to have for lunch on the last day of my visit.

The Chicken Bulgogi looked more red than I'm used to it looking, but it was still pretty good. At first, it tasted just salty to me, but then I noticed the sauce wasn't mixed all the way, and once it was all mixed, it had tasted sweeter, which I liked. It was also a little bit spicy, which went pretty well with the taste of the sauce.

Dumplings from Asiana Restaurant, West Chester, OH

Beef Kalbi from Asiana Restaurant, West Chester, OH
Grilled salmon teriyaki from Asiana Restaurant, West Chester, OH

My mom took me out to eat at Asiana Resaurant in West Chester, OH. I ordered my favorite Korean foods: Beef Kalbi/Galbi and dumplings / mandu. My mom ordered a lunch box combo that came with grilled salmon teriyaki.

The dumplings / mandu were pan-fried vegetable dumplings, and they were nice and crunchy. I couldn't really tell what vegetables were in it, but it was delicious.

The kalbi came out nice and sizzling. However, the taste of the kalbi was more salty than sweet; it wasn't as sweet as I would have liked. A lot of the beef was either fat or bone so there wasn't much meat to get out of it.

My mom's grilled salmon teriyaki was cooked very well and wasn't too dry. The teriyaki sauce also wasn't very sweet, but it went fine with the salmon.

The meal came with the usual Korean side dishes and rice. There were six side dishes, I was very happy to see fish cake among them. I looove the slightly sweet taste of fish cake so, not surprisingly, that was my favorite side dish. I also enjoyed the kimchi since it wasn't a sour kimchi, and it was nice and slightly sweet. The remaining side dishes had mostly a salty taste and were a little too salty for me.
