Costco's Kirkland Signature Sausage & Beef Lasagna comes in two separate packages of three pound lasagna (six pounds total). My boyfriend and I warmed up one package following the microwave instructions, since the microwave takes ~30 minutes (instead of 65 minutes via coventional oven).

It came out pretty well using the microwave instructions. This was a very standard lasagna and had three layers of lasagna noodles. I liked that the noodles were thick, and I liked the mozzarella cheese on top. I'm not a fan of ricotta cheese so the ricotta inside started getting annoying after my first piece. Luckily, the ricotta was easy enough to scrape off. The lasagna could also use more sausage; it looked like the sausage was only on the top layer.

The sauce was a little sweet, but the meat helped give it a more savory flavor so it tasted like a pretty decent commercial tomato sauce. Together, the two of us ate about half the lasagna in one sitting.

Update: We tried baking this in the oven to see if it made much difference, and the lasagna did seem to taste better and have a better texture using a conventional oven. So, a microwave still does well, but a conventional oven does even better!

I have to transport this in a cooler for 2 days. it will be cold but in that time I imagine it will totally thaw. Will it be ok if I cook it then do you think?

I found a piece of wood in my lasagna! I almost ate it. The wood is the size of a penny.

A little too spicy and not enough meat. It’s OK. ????

Nice but has WAY TOO MUCH SALT

  • Dave Plaskett

Tried the lasagna for the first time. The flavor was great BUT the pepper (spice) was over whelming and burning. Would buy it again if I could get rid of the pepper

Got 40 people coming. How long to cook two Kirkland Italian Sausage and Beef Lasagna’s in a conventional oven, secondly, in a convectional oven ?

My family moved and this was in a cooler for 2 days with dry ice but ended up luke warm. Kept in fridge for 2 days then heated in microwave to eat. Is this safe? It seems like they could get food poisoning.

      Toss

Great lasagna. We’ve had this Costco product at least once a month for the past two or three years and it’s dependably great. Taste, texture and aroma all worth the wait and lives up to your expectations.

This is the worst thing I have ever bought from Costco… I am ashamed to have heated this up and feed it to my family…. threw half of it away…. GROSS… ketchup with noodles and left over McDonalds hamburgers….

I have no idea what your review was about. Maybe you let it is on your table for a week, then forgot to cook it. Maybe you don’t like food. Who knows.
Kirkland (Costco) lasagna is as good or better than you can get in excellent restaurants.
I used to love stoffords. Still do. However Kirkland is far better.

Don’t think so. I guess those who think this processed stuff must be the same people who support the fast food franchises and have little to no idea what real food tastes like.

So lace up your boots Greg, get the mule hitched up and get back out to your fields! You shouldn’t be using the internet – buy a newspaper and only follow 2 day old news. YOUR lasagna must have been picked out of your neighbors garbage can or your just to acustomed to grazing on the grass and shrubs – your palat doesn’t recognize good food.

I wouldn’t normally respond to an email as negative as this,
Try showing some class even if you don like something. Your comment is totally useless due to the childish use of words. Sounds like a little kid pouting.

If you don’t like ricotta cheese, don’t eat lasagna. It’s essential to a good lasagna.

  • JoAnn Jackson

We buy this lasagne twice a month from Costco in SoCal. The biggest problem is the consistency in taste….It varies from batch to batch. Sometimes the taste is excellent, other times, not so much.

  • Rick Moore

Undoubtedly the best frozen lasagna I’ve ever had! My usually critical teen aged sons loved it as well. Used conventional oven and followed directions. Don’t bother with a microwave; one third cooking time but cheese won’t brown and the aroma won’t be as flavorsome.

  • Gisselle

Very disappointed with this lasagna, I bought this lasagna because I was craving for some meet lasagna, I am a meat lover. for my surprise when I was eating My lasagna I have to close my eyes and imagine the meat because it was not meat. it may contain half a cup of meat in the en tire lasagna… I will not purchase this again.????
