Bag of Purely Frozen Organic Broccoli from Costco
Bowl of Purely Frozen Organic Broccoli from Costco

We purchased a 4 lb bag of Purely Frozen Organic Broccoli Florets to try from Costco. The 4-pound bag came in four 1-pound bags. We cooked one of the bags of broccoli following the microwave instructions. The instructions stated to microwave on HIGH for 5-6 minutes, and we went with 5 minutes.

The taste of the broccoli was fine... just like regular broccoli. However, the texture of the broccoli was a little on the soft and mushy side, and there was a lot of excess moisture from being frozen. The next time we had some of this broccoli, we tried microwaving it for 4 minutes, and it was still a little frozen... so perhaps the perfect cook time in our microwave is about 4 1/2 minutes.

Bag of Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Crinkle Cut Sweet Potato Fries

Baked Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Crinkle Cut Sweet Potato Fries

I'm not really a fan of crinkle cut sweet potato fries, but my boyfriend's mom bought some for us from Whole Foods. We baked the entire frozen sweet potato fries bag following the instructions on the back of the package.

The crinkle cut sweet potato fries were mostly bland and tasted like regular potato fries with a hint of sweet potato. One good thing was that they were fairly crisp and weren't super mushy like other frozen crinkle cut fries. While I liked that they weren't overwhelmingly sweet, I still would have preferred a little more sweetness / sweet potato flavor.

Bag of Penne all'Arrabbiata from Whole Foods
Penne all'Arrabbiata from Whole Foods

My boyfriend's parents had bought some Chickenless Crispy Tenders from Trader Joe's so I ended up trying some of them.

My boyfriend's mom bought some frozen Penne all'Arrabbiata from Whole Foods. Similar to Trader Joe's Penne Arrabbiata, the pasta comes combined with the sauce, and it's easy to follow the microwave instructions.

The penne pasta was a little hard and on the al dente side. The sauce was a little on the sweet side for me, and it had a garlic-y taste.

It was OK overall, but I still prefer Trader Joe's Penne Arrabbiata to this one.
